Porcelain Veneers

We combine quality material with precision dentistry to create natural-looking, durable porcelain veneers

At Liberty Dental Group in Brentwood, California, we are committed to uncompromising quality and care. Due to our exacting and inviting approach to dentistry, our patients have peace of mind that the appearance and health of their teeth are in exceptional hands. Our dentists, Drs Mike and Emily Molosky, craft dental restorations such as veneers from the most durable, lifelike, and highest quality porcelain. To assure the strongest bond and a lifetime of satisfaction with veneers, they also use advanced bonding materials to secure each veneer to the front surfaces of the teeth.

The art and science of veneers

Veneers are layers of dental material that are applied to the teeth. Once applied and secured, this type of treatment disguises a range of cosmetic imperfections. “Treatable” conditions include:

  • Chipped teeth
  • Small cracks or fractures
  • Stubbornly stained or discolored teeth
  • Irregularly-shaped teeth
  • Overly worn or short teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Minor uneven spacing

Veneers are characterized as “indirect” or “direct.” Indirect veneers are generally fashioned from dental ceramics such as porcelain. They are made from impressions of teeth whose enamel has been slightly reduced to precisely accommodate the thickness of the veneers placed on top of them. Direct veneers are primarily made from composite resins, a tooth-colored type of plastic. Our dentists use their skills to apply and shape the resin as a pliable material to the teeth. Once the imperfections have been covered, the resin is hardened with a specialized dental instrument to “bond” the tooth. This process is also known as “dental bonding.”

Weigh your options

Patients appreciate that indirect veneers are highly durable and replicate the small details and properties of natural enamel so well. Porcelain also resists stains. Direct veneers or dental bonding cost less upfront than porcelain veneers, and no enamel is removed when placing the composite. Regardless of the type of veneer placed, know that your teeth will never look “fake,” or too big or protruding for your smile and face. We account for patients’ facial features and characteristics such as the size of the teeth when designing veneers.
